Our Mission
Chattanooga Tamil Academy (CTA) is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the Tamil language, literature, and culture in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.
As part of this mission, CTA operates Chattanooga Tamil Palli (CTP) , a community Tamil school that provides structured Tamil language and cultural education for children and young adults.
Tamil is one of the world's oldest living classical languages, with a rich literary heritage and a vibrant cultural tradition spanning thousands of years. Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, games, storytelling, music, and cultural celebrations, Chattanooga Tamil Palli inspires students to develop the ability to read, write, speak, and appreciate Tamil while building a lifelong connection to their heritage.
CTA is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The academy is entirely volunteer-driven, with dedicated teachers, parents, and community members working together to preserve Tamil language and culture for future generations.
Our mission is to:

Our School
Chattanooga Tamil Palli, operated by Chattanooga Tamil Academy (CTA), provides a structured and engaging learning environment for children ages 3 and above in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.
Our curriculum combines language learning with cultural education, helping students develop strong Tamil communication skills while gaining an appreciation for Tamil traditions, values, arts, and history. We believe that learning one's mother tongue strengthens identity, builds confidence, and prepares children to become compassionate global citizens.
With the support of the local community and county partners, classes are currently conducted at East Brainerd Elementary School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
At Chattanooga Tamil Palli, every lesson is an opportunity to connect children with one of the world's oldest living languages while preparing them for a bright future rooted in culture, knowledge, and community.
