Chattanooga Tamil Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is officially registered in Tennessee, and that is also Federal Tax Exempt.

Our Mission

Chattanooga Tamil Academy (CTA) was founded to create an interesting educational platform for children and young adults living in the Chattanooga, TN area to love and learn about Tamil - an ancient South Asian Language that has a great history & rich literature and the longest surviving traditional Culture. The students will learn to Read, Write and Converse the language through fun activities and games.

Chattanooga Tamil Academy (CTA) is established as a non-profit organization with the mission to provide Tamil language education and education-related activities pursuant to the guidelines of United States Internal Revenue Code, Title 26 of the U.S. Code, § 501 (c)(3). It is a completely volunteer-run organization initiated for the sole purpose of providing Tamil culture and Tamil language education. CTA provide Tamil education to encourage an interest in Tamil language, literature, and related activities while living in the United States through the initiative of teaching and learning Tamil language, all driven by volunteers. The school’s mission is about teaching children to read, write and speak Tamil. It is about preserving this ancient language for generations to come.

Our School

To teach Tamil language in a structured and professional environment, for children age 3 and above, in the Chattanooga, Tennesse area, in order to expose them to Tamil culture and its continuous relevance to becoming a good global citizen. Chattanooga Tamil Palli earlier served one year as Branch of Avvai Tamil Palli, Sacramento, CA.

Location and Timing

ATP Chattanooga runs every Friday between 6PM and 8.00 PM (EST) at East Brainerd Elementary, 7660 Goodwin Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
